Also, the Open-Door Grant Program covers 100% of the cost associated with the approved courses listed below to cover the cost of tuition, fees, examination, books, and materials.

CAE0747 Clinical Medical Assistant
This course is designed to prepare students to perform various tasks including assisting with the administration of medications, minor procedures, performing EKG electrocardiograms, obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients and other related tasks. Students will review important topics including phlebotomy, pharmacology, the proper use and administration of medications, medical records management, vital signs, cardiology including proper lead placements, professional workplace behavior, ethics, and the legal aspects of healthcare. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to take the following National Certification exams; Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), EKG Technician (CET) and Phlebotomy (CPT).

CAE0765 - EKG Technician
This course prepares students to perform EKGs and includes basic anatomy and physiology of the heart, medical disease processes, medical terminology, medical ethics, legal aspects of patient contact, emergencies related to cardiac testing: syncope, chest pain, and abnormal vitals. Students will also learn about arrhythmias, calculating heart rates, and types of ECGs. This comprehensive course prepares students to take the Certified EKG Technician exam. Additionally, students will practice with EKG equipment and perform hands on labs including introduction to the function and proper use of the EKG machine.

Electronic Health Records
This course prepares students to understand and use electronic records in a healthcare setting by reviewing the implementation and management of electronic health information. Topics include clinical and non-clinical operations, legal responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and reporting. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be prepared to take the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialists (CEHRS) exam.

Medical Administrative Assistant
